Shelly Howard-Horowitz, Managing Director at World Investment Advisors
Shelly is a retirement plan expert with over 27 years of experience devoted solely to working in retirement plan management. Over her career she has provided consulting and fiduciary advisory services to non-profits, private and public corporations in focused areas such as, fiduciary governance, plan design, investment consulting, compliance, employee education and communication. Shelly leads the team in Atlanta, G.A. and Washington, D.C. and works with clients all over the U.S. and Canada. Shelly is a founding member of the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) and a current member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE). She was named a 2024, Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisor by PLANSPONSOR and a Top Women All-Star in 2015-2023 by the National Association of Plan Advisors. Shelly is a graduate of Elon University with a B.A. in Psychology and has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) from the Center of Fiduciary Studies (FI360) and the Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CFPA)TM from the National Association for Plan Advisors (NAPA) and is currently working towards her Certified Financial Planning (CFP) designation. She holds her FINRA Series 7 and 65 securities licenses, as well as Life, Annuities and Long-Term Care insurance licenses. Each year PLANADVISER magazine recognizes the top quantitative standouts from our Retirement Plan Adviser Survey according to the dollar value of qualified plan AUA as well as the number of plans under advisement. The National Association of Plan Advisors, a branch of the American Retirement Association, has put out a list of women advisors who are making significant contributions to a male-dominated profession. The list includes 3 categories of advisors, all chosen based on qualitative and quantitative responses related to their retirement plan practice and their experience throughout their career in the industry. The three categories include: Captains: All-stars who happen to be principals, owners, or team captains of their organizations. All-Stars: Top producers who have their own practice. Rising Stars: Top producers who have less than five years of experience with retirement plans as a Financial Advisor (some have been working with plans longer, but not as a plan advisor).
Anne Morris, Audit Principal at Windham Brannon
With nearly 20 years of public accounting experience, Anne specializes in not-for-profit and employee benefit plan audits. She is an integral part of the Firm’s assurance practice and is the Audit and Assurance Leader of the Not-for-Profit Services Practice and Employee Benefit Plan Practice at Windham Brannon.
She works closely with clients during the planning phase of an audit in order to identify potential issues as early as possible, thereby ensuring that the process is effective, efficient, and completed in a timely manner. She regularly communicates with her clients to help them answer any questions that may arise during the course of the year.
Anne has presented to many nonprofit clients’ Board of Directors and Audit Committees to discuss the company’s audited financial statements as well as any important matters that arose during the audit. Anne has also presented to various non-profit groups about emerging issues in the non-profit arena.
She has served as the chairperson for the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants Employee Benefit Plan Conference and has been a frequent speaker at the AICPA National Employee Benefit Plan Conference. Additionally, Anne is regularly invited by the Board of Directors of her benefit plan clients to present findings from their audits as well as other industry-specific topics.
She joined Windham Brannon in 2001 after graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. Anne then completed her Masters of Accountancy in 2003 from Kennesaw State University.
Anne is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Georgia Center for Nonprofits. She is also on the Board of Directors for Kate’s Club, Inc. and is a former board member of National Women in Pensions, Inc.
She currently is on the Advisory Committee for the Atlanta Chapter of Women in Pensions Network.
Mike Zahariades, Director of Sales and Marketing at RPA
Mike Zahariades is a partner at RPA and is the Director of Sales and Marketing. In his role Mike consults with Financial Advisors, Plan Sponsors and Plan Providers to assess their retirement needs and provide retirement solutions for small to mid-sized companies. Mike also works with Financial Advisors and Plan Providers to develop sales programs and marketing campaigns to educate Plan Sponsors on different plan design features, benefits for their participants and on the operational and administrative benefits of utilizing a local TPA. Mike’s goal is to grow RPA’s client base through strategic partnerships with Plan Providers, Financial Advisors and Plan Sponsors throughout the southeast.
